In the event of theft, the thief’s mobile number is sent, via SMS, from your
stolen mobile to a pre-defined number (e.g. your spouse, office,
friend). This SMS contains important information that will allow you to
recover your mobile and/or at least secure your data (read more). You can also
provide this information to law enforcement agencies to enable them to
apprehend the thief.
Additionally:
You can send an undetected SMS command back to your lost or
stolen mobile, which can:
- Lock your phone making it unusable to whomever has stolen it
-
Trigger a high pitched Alarm which cannot be turned off by the thief
(and which will override the silent mode to enable you to
find your phone if you have simply mislaid it...)
- Delete all your personal data, such as images, contacts, SMS, MMS and email
- Recover all your contacts via a series of SMS messages or email if your phone is GPRS enabled
All this by using Phone-Safe to send various SMS commands to the stolen phone
